You can be part of the first international Poder Hacer conference by presenting a paper or a performance proposal. Of course, you will also soon be able to register as a participant in all of the various activities of the conference’s program. Click on the button and subscribe to our email list to hear when registration opens.
With these topics, Poder Hacer is looking to exchange experiences, knowledge, and viewpoints around the paradigms, conceptualizations, and current proposals of creativity and its application in cities. All of this will help capture, articulate, and present lessons and different visions of the current state, the changing models, and the future shape of the creative context at a national and international level.
Entrance into all discussion panels requires credentials, which will be given to each participant during registration.
Creativity at our present moment. The state of creative matters.
Creativity has been part of daily life since for as long as mankind itself. It is an engine of development—both individual and collective—and is a key concept for cities and their identities; however, it is one of the most difficult to define human traits. It cannot be limited to one single vision or discipline. Currently, the state of creativity—its theory and practice—remains unclear.
This discussion space will work to define the current situation of the concept of creativity, its methodologies, and its application to different contexts. It will further seek to define the creative community and its place in cities, take an inventory of tools and creative strategies, and propose solutions to contemporary challenges: the sustainability of creative agents and public policy and the relationship with the cultural and creative economy.

Just as creativity transforms the city, the city transforms creativity, both in terms of production and innovation. New approaches to creativity are constantly being developed, adapting to new urban paradigms that coexist with earlier ideas, generating hybridizations and new incentives for urban development.
This discussion space aims to analyze, understand, compare, and rethink the concept of creativity, using as a starting point new creative models and paradigms and their spaces, contexts, scales, and modes of implementation.
• New paradigms and creative methodologies
• New models of innovation and conflict resolution
• Creativity and globalism
The future of creativity. Where are we going? How do we get there?
Right now we don’t have specific visions of what the future of creativity looks like in urban contexts. Imagining better cities can be the first step in the the transformation and construction of long-term visions of future creative dynamics.
This discussion space looks to generate proposals and visions of the future of creativity; it will be centered on the invention of urban fictions and the search for solutions and actions for the future that leave behind conventional frameworks. To think in terms of “utopia” allows us to reimagine creativity in an interdisciplinary way as an answer to the limits of current models. Imagination and play are tools that can be used, by academics as much as by communities, to construct the city of the future: a creative city, but also one that is playful, open, and collective.
